A diamond nearly always has natural imperfections, known as inclusions. These inclusions contribute to a diamond’s identifying characteristics. Inclusions are found within the actual diamond. Inclusions can be white, black, colourless, or even red or green. Most inclusions ca not be seen by the naked eye, and can only be seen with 10X magnification.
Inclusions are ranked in a scale of perfection called clarity.
The grades of clarity start from F which is a Flawless Diamond all the way through to I which means Included.
A Diamond with the clarity scale of I means that the inclusions can be seen by the naked eye without any kind of magnification. The position of the inclusions can greatly effect the value of the diamond.
